Indifference

Thank you, God, for answering my prayer. This morning, I read the following from Father Jean C.J. d’Elbée’s I Believe in Love:

Contempt — and indifference even more than contempt — is hard to accept. We must swallow the bitter gall of being left aside as insignificant while the idol of self is obliged to bow its head. But in this taste of death for our nature, there is also a taste of divine life, because it is in the measure that we die to ourselves that we live in God, that Jesus takes a greater place in us.
