Autumn Violin Recital

For the fall violin recital, Bernadette played “Hungarian Dance No. 2” by Johannes Brahms.

Theresa played “Ashokan Farewell” by Jay Ungar.

All of their violin teacher’s students joined each other in playing “Ballad of Green Mountain”, a traditional piece that their teacher arranged. I think that they did a great job, especially considering that this was the first time that they played the piece together.

Happy Feast of St. Nicholas!

Very nice, ladies! We enjoyed hearing the violins, as alas we have no players here. We are used to hearing the Brahms on the piano in our house and the Ashokan on harp. We all agree the Farewell is even sadder on the violin. The Green Mountain was delightful too!

Thank you. My daughters appreciate your encouragement. Theresa wanted to play the harp, but I didn't feel that we had room in our house. A friend's daughter is a talented harpist. The harp is a beautiful instrument. I will have to encourage Bernadette to try Brahms on the piano. God bless you!
