“If Christ Jesus dwells in a man as his friend and noble leader, that man can endure all things, for Christ helps and strengthens us and never abandons us. He is a true friend.”
~ St. Teresa of Avila ~

January

On January 5, I gave Kilian his first haircut. He is my first little boy to have had a haircut before his first birthday.

February

Kieran gave his brother a haircut, and our little boy ate his first cupcake.
March

We made cookies for St. Patrick’s Day, and pysanky for Easter presents. We also enjoyed an impromptu parish picnic on Palm Sunday.
April

We celebrated Easter. Finnian served as a torchbearer on Easter Sunday morning.

May

Our youngest daughter received her First Holy Communion.

 June

Theresa decided that she likes making cakes. She made the first cake for the Feast of Corpus Christi and the second one just because. She has made several more cakes since June. Our four oldest children enjoyed our parish’s camps.

July
Our oldest son left to visit my brother and his family in Switzerland (and Brittany). Two of my daughters went to another FSSP camp. We went to a wedding (Theresa caught the bouquet), the beach, and the Highland Games (as always, the massing of the bands sounded great).

August
I am thankful that my husband is still around. We are thankful for all the love that family and friends showed to us. During my husband’s recovery, our youngest delighted in being able to eat his daddy’s food. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Kilian was always right by my husband’s side, opening his mouth like a little bird.
September
In September, we had fun at our parish’s annual picnic.

October
We spent the day at the zoo. Theresa carved our pumpkin this year. Most importantly, we started going to a new parish. While we miss our friends from our old parish, we are so thankful to have a parish that is closer to home, and a good and holy priest for our pastor. May God bless our priests and may Our Lady keep them close to her Immaculate Heart!

November
We assisted at our parish’s All Saints Day Mass and had a great time at the All Saints Day Party. The boys participated in altar server training at our new parish and we celebrated Thanksgiving.

December
We prepared our hearts and minds for the birth of Christ. We were privileged to be able to assist at our parish’s first Rorate Mass.

“Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant justum, aperiatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem.”
~ Isaiah 45:8 ~

Christmas photos will be shared separately.

Beautiful pictures, Christine! And you husband is wearing an ND shirt :). You son must have had a great time in Europe. I did not know he was going, must have missed that. Did he practice his French? What kind of camera do you have? The church pictures are really well done.

Thank you, Eva. Yes, my father-in-law is a huge ND football fan. He usually gives my husband some sort of ND clothing for Christmas and/or his birthday. I don't know if I shared that my son was going; you may not have missed it. I am so grateful to my brother and sister-in-law. He had a wonderful time. He definitely came back knowing a little French. The photos were taken with three different cameras – Canon Elf 340 HS, Canon Rebel XTi, and Canon EOS Rebel T6i. Most of the church pictures were taken by my husband.

Thanks so much about the camera info! I need a new camera, so it is always good to know what other people are using. All the best for you and the growing little one.
